Biography

Sara Van Hoose, Ph.D., graduated from the University of Chicago with general and departmental honors, then earned an MST in bilingual education from Fordham University, and a PhD in clinical psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn. She completed her pre-doctoral training in the field of mother-infant mental health with Dr. Beatrice Beebe at Columbia University; New York State Psychiatric Institute. Dr. Van Hoose completed her clinical training at various child and adult settings, her psychology internship at the Brooklyn VA Hospital, and her post-doctoral fellowship at the William Alanson White Institute. She is licensed in New York and maintains a private practice in Brooklyn Heights. She teaches and supervises doctoral students at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and the New York State Psychological Association.
